Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-based cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has transitioned to a new role as head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as confirmed by a Coinbase representative via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant and legal services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
