Millions Spent by Solana Policy Institute-Backed PAC to Block Sherrod Brown's Senate Bid

A substantial advertising campaign has been launched by the Sentinel Action Fund, a conservative political action committee backed by the Solana Policy Institute, in support of John Husted, the Republican candidate opposing former Senator Sherrod Brown, a prominent crypto skeptic, in the Ohio Senate election. The PAC has committed $8 million to Husted's campaign, citing Brown's history of opposing pro-innovation policies related to digital assets. The Sentinel Action Fund is partially funded by the Solana Institute, Multicoin Capital, and several high-profile financial figures. The Ohio election is expected to be a closely contested Senate battle, with recent polls indicating a neck-and-neck race between Husted and Brown. The Sentinel Action Fund joins other crypto industry PACs, such as Fairshake and Fellowship PAC, in supporting pro-digital assets candidates. The Solana Policy Institute has donated $750,000 to the Sentinel Action Fund, while also splitting its campaign spending between Republican and Democratic PACs.
