Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify the compromise that will propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview on CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground achieved by key senators from both parties regarding stablecoin yield will endure.

Witt noted that resolving this issue was essential before addressing other outstanding concerns, which he is now focusing on, with some already resolved. The Clarity Act had faced potential obstacles, including illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt reported that negotiations have made significant progress in the background, and he is confident that the remaining issues can be resolved. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote.

Last week, a White House report downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt acknowledged that bankers have diverse views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology.
