Parasite Mining Pool Strikes Again, Finding Its Second Bitcoin Block

A revolutionary bitcoin mining pool, designed to challenge traditional models, has achieved its second major milestone. Parasite Pool, launched in April 2025, mined block 945,601, its second block, roughly 48 days after its first successful block. This innovative pool operates on a hybrid model, where the winning miner receives 1 BTC, and the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees are distributed proportionally among all participants. Notably, there are no fees to participate in this pool, and payouts are made through the Lightning Network. The pool's design aims to provide a more equitable distribution of rewards, rejecting both the industrial pay-per-share model and the pure lottery approach. By securing bitcoin through a competitive cryptographic puzzle, the winner earns the right to add the next block of transactions to the blockchain, collecting a reward currently valued at around $238,000. The competition is dominated by large-scale industrial operators, but Parasite targets home miners, offering a unique solution to the variance of block findings. Founded by ZK Shark, the creator of Ordinal Maxi Biz, an NFT collection on Bitcoin, Parasite's model has now been validated twice, with the second block carrying significant weight. The pool's hashrate currently stands at 52 petahashes per second, and a third block within the next two months would solidify the case for Parasite's hybrid model.
