Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify the compromise crucial for the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the US Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed hope that the stablecoin yield compromise reached between key senators from both parties would endure. He noted that resolving this issue was essential before addressing other outstanding matters, some of which have already been resolved. The Clarity Act had faced several potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt reported significant progress in negotiations, with many issues nearing resolution. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent White House report downplayed the risks associated with stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that bankers have diverse views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology.
