Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, stated that efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate.

In a recent interview on CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground achieved by key senators from both parties regarding stablecoin yield will remain intact. Witt noted that resolving the yield issue was a crucial step before addressing other outstanding matters, some of which have already been resolved. The Clarity Act had faced several potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a request from Democrats to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he mentioned that significant progress has been made in the background negotiations. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report from White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on the issue, depending on their proximity to the technology.
