Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, stated that efforts are ongoing to finalize a compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a CoinDesk TV interview, Witt expressed optimism that the recently reached common ground on stablecoin yield will endure, allowing for the resolution of other outstanding issues.

The executive director of the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets noted that several key points are being addressed behind the scenes, with some already resolved. The Clarity Act had faced potential obstacles, including illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. Witt declined to specify the topics that have been settled but confirmed that significant progress has been made in the background. A markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee is required before the Clarity Act can proceed to a final Senate vote.

The White House economists' report downplaying the banking sector's concerns about stablecoin yield has been met with a response from the American Bankers Association, highlighting the ongoing debate. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on stablecoins, with some being more positive and others more threatened by the technology.
