Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the Vice President of International Policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. During his nearly four-year tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon developed expertise in crypto regulations. Prior to joining Coinbase, he spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.

A spokesperson for Coinbase confirmed that Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy. Duff Gordon's departure was noted, and he was reached out to for comment, but a response was not immediately received. Notably, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted an issue where UK banks were restricting access to compliant and legal services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
