Parasite Pool Mines Second Bitcoin Block, Proving Hybrid Model's Effectiveness
A novel Bitcoin mining pool, designed to challenge traditional pay-per-share and pure lottery models, has achieved its second block, validating its innovative design. Parasite Pool, which launched in April 2025, mined block 945,601 on Friday, with the block containing 7,398 transactions and 0.002 BTC in fees. The pool's hybrid model awards the winning miner 1 BTC and distributes the remaining 2.125 BTC plus fees among all participants, proportionally to their contributions. This approach has attracted home miners, with the pool's hashrate currently at 52 petahashes per second. The success of Parasite Pool's model, founded by ZK Shark, could potentially disrupt the dominance of industrial mining operators, offering a more inclusive and rewarding experience for smaller-scale miners.
