Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has departed the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on a new role as head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As an expert in crypto regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
