Tom Duff Gordon, the vice president of international policy at U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform Coinbase, has made the decision to leave the company after nearly four years of service. According to a Coinbase spokesperson, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.
Despite his expertise in crypto regulations, Duff Gordon did not provide immediate comment on his departure. Notably, he had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant and lawful services due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
