Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on a new position as head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email. Prior to joining Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant and legitimate services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those with higher risk profiles.
