Tom Duff Gordon, previously the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-based cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is set to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as confirmed by a Coinbase spokesperson. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment.

As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a higher risk.
