Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI, where he will serve as head of EMEA Policy, according to a statement from a Coinbase representative. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.

He has not yet responded to a request for comment on his new role. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon recently highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a higher risk.
