In a bid to bolster the cryptocurrency industry's defenses against cyber threats, the US Department of the Treasury has announced that it will begin sharing timely and actionable cybersecurity information with eligible crypto businesses. This move aims to provide crypto firms with the same level of cybersecurity awareness as traditional financial institutions, thereby promoting a more secure digital asset ecosystem.

The decision follows a recommendation from the President's Working Group on Digital Asset Markets, which emphasized the importance of information sharing in mitigating cyber-attack risks. By extending access to high-quality cybersecurity information, the Treasury seeks to support the growth of a more responsible and secure digital asset sector. The cryptocurrency industry has long been vulnerable to malicious hacks, with significant funds and data being stolen each year. Recent incidents, including the theft of over $280 million from the decentralized platform Drift, have highlighted the need for enhanced security measures.

The Solana Foundation has also recently taken steps to prevent exploits, underscoring the ongoing concerns surrounding digital security in the crypto sector.
