Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at the US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is set to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a Coinbase representative.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has yet to comment on his departure.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to legitimate services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
