Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a Coinbase representative.

Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry. As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to legitimate and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
