Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. According to a spokesperson for Coinbase, Duff Gordon is joining OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy. Prior to his nearly four-year tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.

He has not yet commented on his departure. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
