DoubleZero Introduces High-Speed Trading Technology to Crypto with Solana Integration

The DoubleZero Foundation has launched a platform designed to accelerate the delivery of crypto market data to trading firms, signaling a growing need for Wall Street-style systems in the digital asset market. DoubleZero Edge, which went live on Thursday, offers a real-time feed of raw data from the Solana blockchain, granting traders quicker access to information that can impact prices. By collaborating with validators, DoubleZero taps into Solana's high-speed blockchain, which generates vast amounts of real-time data as transactions are processed, and distributes it more rapidly to market participants. Unlike traditional finance, where specialized networks facilitate high-speed data delivery, crypto markets largely rely on the public internet, which can introduce delays and inconsistencies. DoubleZero aims to address this by building a dedicated system tailored for on-chain data. According to the company, the new network can reduce data delivery times by tens of milliseconds, with more significant gains during periods of intense network activity. For high-frequency trading firms, even minor speed improvements can result in a competitive advantage. The platform operates by transmitting data over a private fiber network using multicast, a method commonly employed in traditional financial markets to distribute data to multiple participants simultaneously. In addition to enhanced speed, DoubleZero is introducing a new economic model, where Solana network validators can earn extra revenue by providing data to the platform, while traders pay to subscribe to the feeds using USDC. The launch coincides with the increasing demand from crypto trading firms for more reliable and predictable infrastructure, particularly as competition intensifies and margins narrow. DoubleZero's system could help level the playing field by minimizing uncertainty in how quickly market data reaches participants. As stated by Andrew McConnell, co-founder of DoubleZero, 'Traditional finance has spent decades developing infrastructure where speed and deterministic performance are a genuine competitive advantage. On-chain markets lacked this foundation, leaving even sophisticated trading firms operating on uneven ground. Deterministic infrastructure eliminates a risk that market makers must factor in, resulting in tighter spreads and better execution.'
