Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the Vice President of International Policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has accepted a new position as Head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has not yet responded to requests for comment. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted that UK banks are inadvertently preventing millions of customers from accessing compliant and lawful services.
This is due to their failure to differentiate between Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms with lower fraud rates and those that pose a higher risk.
