Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has departed the company. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, as announced by a Coinbase spokesperson via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.
He was unavailable for immediate comment. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted that UK banks are inadvertently restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers by failing to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
