Millions Spent by Solana Policy Institute-Backed PAC to Block Sherrod Brown's Senate Bid
A substantial advertising investment has been made by the Sentinel Action Fund, a conservative U.S. political action committee backed by the Solana Policy Institute, in support of Jon Husted, the Republican opponent of former Senator Sherrod Brown, a prominent crypto skeptic, in the Ohio Senate election. The committee has committed $8 million to Husted's campaign, accusing Brown of hindering pro-innovation policies related to digital assets during his previous tenure as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. The super PAC receives funding from the Solana Institute, crypto venture firm Multicoin Capital, and several high-profile financial figures. The Ohio election is expected to be a highly contested Senate battle, with recent polls indicating a neck-and-neck race between Husted and Brown. The Sentinel Action Fund joins other entities, such as Fairshake and the Fellowship PAC, in supporting pro-digital assets candidates. The Solana Policy Institute has donated $750,000 to the Sentinel Action Fund, while also contributing to Republican and Democratic PACs with opposing aims.
