The White House's primary crypto adviser, Patrick Witt, has stated that efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed optimism that a mutually acceptable agreement on stablecoin yield, reached by key senators from both parties, will endure. This development is seen as a crucial step forward, as it addresses a major point of contention that had been hindering progress.

With this issue seemingly resolved, Witt has shifted his focus to addressing other outstanding concerns, some of which have already been settled through ongoing negotiations. The Clarity Act aims to provide clarity on various aspects of the crypto sector, including protections against illicit financial activities in the DeFi space and restrictions on senior government officials' involvement in the sector. While Witt did not disclose the specifics of the resolved issues, he emphasized that significant progress has been made, and he is confident that the remaining concerns can be addressed.

The next step for the Clarity Act is a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee, which is necessary before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. The White House has been working to alleviate concerns raised by bank lobbyists regarding stablecoin yield, and Witt believes that a balanced approach can be achieved. He also acknowledged that the banking sector has diverse views on stablecoins, ranging from positivity to apprehension, depending on their proximity to the technology.
