Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at the US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has made a career move. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is now heading to OpenAI to assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative.

Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. Despite being approached for comment, he did not provide an immediate response. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had highlighted an issue where UK banks were restricting access to legitimate services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
