Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify the compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground achieved on stablecoin yield will endure, paving the way for addressing other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act had faced several potential roadblocks, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a proposal to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt reported that significant progress has been made in resolving these issues, with many having already been settled. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before proceeding to a final Senate vote.

A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology.
