Tom Duff Gordon, a veteran executive who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has made a significant career move. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, as confirmed by a Coinbase representative. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse.
His departure was noted, although he did not immediately comment on the matter. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
