Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-based cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as confirmed by a Coinbase representative. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse.

At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment. As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a greater risk.
