Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made the move to join OpenAI. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on the role of head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for immediate comment. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant and lawful services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
