Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, has expressed confidence that the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act will move forward in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt stated that several key issues are being addressed behind the scenes, and he is hopeful that the compromise reached on stablecoin yield will endure. The stablecoin yield issue had been a significant point of contention, with bankers warning that it could threaten their deposit base.

However, Witt believes that the common ground achieved on this issue will hold, allowing the bill to advance. The Clarity Act aims to provide clarity on the regulation of digital assets, and its progress has been hindered by various issues, including illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and concerns about government officials profiting from the crypto sector. While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been resolved, he noted that considerable progress has been made in the background.

The bill will require a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. Despite the challenges, Witt remains optimistic that the remaining issues can be resolved, citing the progress made so far as a positive indicator.
