Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a CoinDesk TV interview, Witt expressed optimism that the stablecoin yield compromise reached by key senators from both parties will endure.

He noted that resolving this issue was a prerequisite for addressing other outstanding matters, some of which have already been resolved. The Clarity Act had faced several potential obstacles, including illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he acknowledged that significant progress has been made in the background negotiations.

The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. Witt expressed confidence that the remaining issues can be resolved, citing the progress made so far.

A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt observed that bankers' views on stablecoins vary, with some being more positive and others more threatened by the technology.
