Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years of service at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as confirmed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment.

As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
