The rise of quantum computing has sparked concerns about the potential risks it poses to blockchain security. Experts believe that XRP's architecture provides better protection against quantum threats than Bitcoin's.
The XRP Ledger's open-source, decentralized blockchain and features like key rotation and escrow contribute to its relative security. A recent audit found that approximately 300,000 XRP accounts, holding 2.4 billion XRP, have never sent funds and are therefore quantum-safe by default. In contrast, Bitcoin's blockchain lacks a key rotation feature, leaving holders more vulnerable to quantum attacks.
While Bitcoin developers are working on proposals to develop quantum resistance, XRP's design and features currently make it less exposed to these threats.
