Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on a new position as the head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative. Prior to joining Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously noted that banks in the U.K. are inadvertently restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a higher risk.
