The emergence of quantum computing has sparked concerns about the potential risks to blockchain networks. Experts suggest that XRP's architecture may be more resilient to quantum threats than Bitcoin's due to its account-based system and features like key rotation and escrow. A recent audit found that approximately 300,000 XRP accounts, holding 2.4 billion XRP, have never sent funds and are therefore quantum-safe by default.
In contrast, Bitcoin's blockchain may be more vulnerable, with around 6.9 million BTC at risk, equivalent to nearly 35% of its circulating supply. While both networks face potential risks, XRP's design and features may provide an additional layer of protection against quantum attacks.
