Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative via email. Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to legitimate and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms with low fraud rates and those deemed higher-risk.
