Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to become the head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the cryptocurrency exchange via email. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has not yet responded to requests for comment on his departure.

As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a higher risk.
