Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify the compromise that will propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a CoinDesk TV interview, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground achieved by key senators from both parties regarding stablecoin yield will remain intact. He mentioned that resolving this issue was essential before addressing other outstanding concerns, some of which have already been resolved.

Apart from the stablecoin yield debate, the Clarity Act faced other potential obstacles, including illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. Witt noted that negotiations have made significant progress, and while he did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he expressed confidence that the remaining issues can be resolved. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote.

A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on the issue, depending on their proximity to the technology.
