Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at the US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is moving on to join OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a Coinbase representative.

Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. At the time of inquiry, he was unavailable for comment. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
