According to Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that could propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. Witt, who also serves as the executive director of the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets, expressed optimism that the bipartisan agreement on stablecoin yield will endure, facilitating progress on other outstanding issues.

In a recent interview, Witt noted that resolving the yield issue was a crucial step before addressing other challenges, some of which have already been resolved. The Clarity Act has faced several potential hurdles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and requests to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he confirmed that significant progress has been made in the background, giving him confidence that the remaining issues can be resolved. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report by White House economists downplayed the banking sector's concerns about stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology, and emphasized that these issues are important to their members.
