Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, has stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed optimism that the stablecoin yield compromise reached by key senators from both parties will endure, allowing progress on other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act had faced several potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt reported that significant progress has been made in addressing these issues, with many previously intractable problems now nearing resolution. The Clarity Act will require a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology.
