Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has transitioned to OpenAI, where he will assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a Coinbase representative. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding his departure.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms with lower fraud rates and higher-risk entities.
