According to Patrick Witt, the White House's primary crypto adviser, efforts are ongoing to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the US Senate. In a recent interview, Witt expressed hope that the stablecoin yield compromise reached by key senators from both parties will endure, allowing for progress on other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act has faced several potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. Witt declined to specify which topics have been resolved but noted that considerable progress has been made in the background, giving him confidence that the remaining issues can be addressed.

The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report from White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that the views of bankers on stablecoins vary, with some being more positive and others feeling threatened.
