Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider supporting numerous blockchains and industry players, has introduced AgentPay, a novel solution that enables disparate AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact and transact with one another. This innovation addresses the pressing concern that current AI-driven payment systems lack interoperability, resulting in a fragmented landscape where merchants must establish separate integrations for each protocol.

According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, "The current situation is unsustainable and will only become more complex as additional systems launch. AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, providing them with a new endpoint that enables any agent on a supported protocol to make payments through it." As a pioneer in providing the necessary infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications, Alchemy is often regarded as the 'AWS of Web3.' AgentPay promises to simplify the process by offering a single integration for multiple protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402. By positioning itself as a translation layer, AgentPay routes instructions without Alchemy handling the funds, as explained by Poncin.

The emergence of agentic finance, anticipated to become a cornerstone of online payment activity, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents, often with human oversight in the background. Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy aims to release AgentPay to the general public in the coming weeks.
