Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made a career move to greener pastures. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon is now heading to OpenAI to assume the position of head of EMEA Policy, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. Despite being approached for comment, he did not immediately respond. Notably, as an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant and legal services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
