The rise of quantum computing has sparked concerns about its potential impact on legacy blockchains. However, experts believe that XRP's architecture makes it better equipped to withstand quantum threats than Bitcoin. XRP operates on the XRP Ledger, a decentralized, open-source blockchain that facilitates cross-border transactions.
A recent audit found that around 300,000 XRP accounts, holding 2.4 billion XRP, have never sent funds and are therefore quantum-safe by default. In contrast, Bitcoin's blockchain lacks a key rotation feature, leaving holders more vulnerable to quantum attacks. While Bitcoin developers are working on proposals to develop quantum resistance, XRP's features, such as key rotation and escrow, provide an additional layer of protection against quantum risks.
