Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made a career move. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on the role of head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as revealed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously noted that UK banks are inadvertently restricting access to legitimate and compliant services for millions of customers. This is due to their failure to differentiate between Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms with lower fraud rates and those considered higher-risk.
