Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, stated that efforts are ongoing to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the advancement of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview on CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the consensus on stablecoin yield reached by key senators from both parties will endure, allowing the focus to shift to other outstanding issues.

Witt noted that resolving the yield issue was a crucial step before addressing other concerns. The Clarity Act had faced multiple potential obstacles, including illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request from Democrats to prevent senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Although Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been resolved, he mentioned that significant progress has been made in the background. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on stablecoins, depending on their proximity to the technology.
