Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has parted ways with the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on the role of head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a company spokesperson. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry.
As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
