Tom Duff Gordon, previously the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has parted ways with the company. After nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as head of EMEA Policy, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted that UK banks are inadvertently restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
