Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has launched AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that facilitates collaboration between various AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This new solution addresses the long-standing problem of incompatibility between agentic payment systems, which has hindered merchants from efficiently integrating multiple protocols.
According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'The current fragmentation is unsustainable, and AgentPay provides a solution by allowing merchants to register their existing API and receive a new endpoint, enabling any agent on supported protocols to make payments through it.' As a pioneer in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often regarded as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its comprehensive infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications. AgentPay promises to simplify the integration process for merchants by providing a single integration point for multiple protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402. By acting as a translation layer, AgentPay routes instructions without directly handling funds, as emphasized by Poncin. The emergence of agentic finance, which is poised to become a cornerstone of online payment activity, often involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents, with humans playing a background role.
Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy is gearing up for a general release of AgentPay in the coming weeks.
